We are looking for a Lead Product Designer to take ownership of complex product areas within Cortex, partnering closely with Product and Engineering to shape solutions end-to-end. You will be responsible for translating ambiguous, complex problems into clear, thoughtful product experiences, making informed tradeoffs, and driving decisions that move the product forward.

This role is focused on product thinking, decision-making, and execution in a fast-moving startup environment. We are looking for someone who thrives in ambiguity, collaborates closely with product and engineering, and can take ownership of complex problems from concept through launch.

 Take loosely defined problems, bring structure, and drive them through to clear, actionable solutions.

: Design, plan, and execute high-fidelity prototypes and user testing to validate concepts and inform design direction across the product management and engineering teams.

: Own the design process from concept development, through wireframing, high-fidelity mockups, and final handoff. Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to ensure features meet a high bar for user experience.

5-7+ years of experience as a Product Designer working on complex B2B or enterprise SaaS products. Experience with developer tools is a plus. Startup experience is highly desirable.

Proven experience leading end-to-end design projects with significant business impact.

Expert proficiency with Figma, prototyping tools, and user research methodologies.

Experience working across complex product surfaces with an ability to balance consistency, scalability, and product needs.

We’re looking for a Senior Product Design Engineer who can help be the glue between the design team and the frontend engineering team. This is a hybrid role, and you’ll excel if you enjoy being a generalist. Sometimes this role is called UX Engineer, Design Engineer, or Creative Technologist. Here are 

 others have defined this role. The main idea is that you’re a designer who works mostly in code. However, you are MORE than just a vibe coder. We use AI tools at Cortex, but rely on them only where it increases our velocity. We are fully accountable for the code we ship.

You’ll report to the design team, which consists of 2 designers that also code, and will fully own our design system from Figma through implementation. Additionally, you’ll contribute across our codebase to ship features and reinforce consistent patterns, while prioritizing creating a world-class UX for our users. We highly prize craft and work tirelessly to ensure Cortex remains at the forefront of products for engineering teams.

Contribute to raising the design bar at Cortex

: You’ll work with the design team to push the boundaries of our design and user experience. You are relentless about crafting a delightful experience that we can all be proud of.

: You’ll also look for opportunities to ensure no part of the product falls below standard best practices. That means reducing papercuts, iterating on clunky user experiences, polishing microinteractions, and adding appropriate UI animation to guide users to success.

: You’ll own the design system end-to-end, in both Figma and code. You’ll work closely with other designers who are consuming components in figma, and developers consuming components in code.

You will assist the design team, product management team, and engineering teams in rapid prototyping when a high fidelity prototype is the best tool to illustrate functionality.

You’ll be asked to design and ship UI-heavy features across the product surface area, ensuring components are performant and well-tested while collaborating with product management, frontend, and backend developers when necessary.

As a Senior Professional Services Engineer, you will act as a hands-on technical consultant, owning customer engagements end to end, from kickoff through delivery and handover. Your focus is helping customers successfully design, implement, and scale their Cortex setup through a consultative, hands-on-driven approach.

You’ll work closely with customers to understand their engineering ecosystem, data models, and how their organization structures its Engineering Operations System. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being close to customers, solving real technical problems, and translating complex systems into practical solutions.
