We’re looking for a Senior DevOpS Engineer, Windows Desktop to help shape our all-in-one privacy solution and join our mission to show the world that protecting your privacy online can be simple.
The Opportunity
This role combines DevOps, cloud engineering, and IT Operations. You will collaborate with team members at all levels to provide tooling and automation to help us reach our objectives more quickly.
You&#8217;ll take ownership of major components of our internal infrastructure, ensuring their smooth operations and continually seeking opportunities for improvement. You will create tools and processes that enhance our team&#8217;s productivity and that increase efficiency of our native applications (our privacy super apps!) development and deployment process. Over time you&#8217;ll own CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure that automatically build those apps.
You&#8217;ll also be part of the team&#8217;s shared on-call rotation and responsible for triaging and resolving employee support requests across the organization. You&#8217;ll leverage your experience debugging issues to solve problems, big and small. Your eye for detail will help us optimize our practices, improving how we support our global team.
What You Will Bring to DuckDuckGo
<ol>
<li>Ability to lead and collaborate on high-impact and complex projects from proposal through post-mortem.</li>
<li>Skills to wrangle vague problems, propose innovative solutions, and execute them with a strong focus on metrics.</li>
<li>7+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or IT operations roles.</li>
<li>Experience with application automated build and release processes/pipelines on Windows and Unix.</li>
<li>Intermediate programming ability in a high-level language (e.g., Perl or Python).</li>
<li>Experience and comfort on the Linux command line.</li>
<li>Experience with infrastructure as code (e.g., Chef/Puppet/Ansible/Terraform).</li>
<li>Passion for helping people and enabling them to solve problems.</li>

Compensation
Annual compensation: $170,000 USD and stock options.  Compensation is the same within a professional level, regardless of geographic location or functional area, and the compensation for each professional level is transparent across the organization.

<li>Sometimes we meet up! Expect to travel at least two times a year: once for our all-hands meetup and again for a team retreat (each around 4-5 days). While extenuating circumstances may impact attendance, everyone is strongly encouraged to attend.</li>
