As the Engineering Manager for our Growth Pod, you will lead a full-stack product pod, reporting directly to Toby, our VP of Engineering. You will be accountable for both the health and growth of the team, and what it delivers. That means shaping an ambitious roadmap and directly driving the work to get there.

The Growth Pod is staffed with four full-stack engineers, a PM, a designer, and a data scientist who all share the same mission and goals: delivering experiences to help our clients find Atticus and understand how we can help them in a moment of crisis. Engineering Managers at Atticus are hands-on leaders. In addition to owning your team’s roadmap, you’ll shape your team’s culture and processes, have an active hand in developing the careers of the people you manage, and be actively involved in the day to day technical work your team ships. EMs here aren’t typically our most senior technical contributors, but you should expect to be directly accountable for the quality of your team’s output and closely involved in coaching their technical work. That means staying close to the code; we want you reviewing PRs, weighing in on architecture, and diving into the details alongside your teammates when that's the right call.

You've managed a team of at least three engineers for more than a year.

You've grown engineers, including senior ICs and people early in their careers. You're also able to have hard performance conversations when someone isn't meeting expectations.

You've worked in a high-performing product organization, with strong PMs and designers, and you know what it means for engineers to own product outcomes.

You've operated with ambiguity and limited resources, either at a startup like ours or by carving that out inside a larger company.

You’ll be successful in this role if…

You’ve spent 6-9 years in digital marketing, with at least 3 in a lead role owning a website P&L or equivalent

You’ve delivered demonstrable wins in SEO and content-led growth, ideally at a DTC brand with a long consideration cycle (health, wellness, fintech, education, legal services). If you can point to organic traffic charts that go up and to the right and tell us exactly why, we want to talk.

You have strong conversion chops. You've A/B tested landing pages, rebuilt funnels, and have strong opinions about what makes a vertical landing page convert. You can defend those opinions with data.
